Dear Patient

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the practice has had to take measures to protect both our staff and our patients, like all GP practices we have had to develop a new way of working which reduces the footfall coming into the practice.  Even though the front door is closed our practice team are working hard to provide a safe, secure and efficient service to our patients.

Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic we have commenced a telephone triage system for GP and nurse appointments, introduced the AccuRx Texting System, introduced a designated repeat prescription line, developed a practice website offering online repeat prescription requests and employed additional staff. Patient feedback so far has been very positive.

We have continued to provide telephone consultations and face to face appointments with doctors, nurses and pharmacist throughout the pandemic.

Acute and repeat prescriptions and sick certificates are being issued.  Blood samples are being taken and results reviewed, injections are being given also wound checks and dressings performed as per clinical need

Clinics are still being arranged for scheduled baby vaccinations, cervical smears, warfarin monitoring, Pre-school boosters and patients with chronic diseases are being reviewed

Non NHS work e.g. insurance reports, solicitors reports, HGV medicals are being done when time permits, once NHS work completed.

We have administered thousands of covid-19 vaccinations and our GP’s have worked weekly sessions in the local Covid Centres.

We thank you for your patience and understanding during these uncertain and difficult times and hope this information reassures you and dispels the myth that GP practices are closed and not seeing patients.
